In October 2009, Vyctorya had placed in a foster family due to suspected abuse from her biological parents. Just days after she was born she was placed into foster care.
She stayed with three families until she was 10 months old, when she eventually settled in with Terry and Kelli Sedgewick of Placentia. 8 months later, the Los Angeles County court decided to reunite Vyctorya with her parents, despite desperate pleas from her loved foster family.
On April 23 2011, police officers were called for a child who was not breathing. Officers found Vyctorya with no heartbeat. CPR was performed on her before she was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead the next morning.
Vyctorya's father said that Vyctorya died following days of odd behavior and balance issues. She fell twice in the care of her parents, but never woke up after the second tumble in the bathtub, he said.
Vyctorya had a fractured rib and her body was bruised. Blood tests show that she was starved.
Vyctorya's father was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
