Joanna Mullin
July 15 2001 - August 5 2007
Age: 6 years old
The dispatcher asked if the children were okay, and Arlene said they were. The dispatched asked if Arlene could go check on the children just to be sure, so Arlene did. After a short amount of time passed, Arlene said to the dispatcher, "Oh, God. I don't see my granddaughter."
It was discovered that Ryan had kidnapped Joanna, raped, and murdered her. He wrapped Joanna's body in a blanket and put her in the back of his grandmother's car that he had stolen. He drove the car around while trying to decide what to do with Joanna's body.
The police spotted him speeding and tried to pull him over. Ryan wouldn't pull over. Instead, he tried to speed away from them. When the police did manage to pull him over, he threatened them with a knife. A police dog eventually managed to take him down. It was after this that the police discovered Joanna in the car. Her cause of death was strangulation. She had been strangled to death with the necklace she was wearing.
Ryan's attorney suggested that Ryan was not guilty due to insanity. Ryan was found guilty of first degree murder, two counts of rape of a child with force, and home invasion. He was given two life sentences without parole.
