Brianna Walker

Brianna Lynn Walker
May 31 2001 - June 7 2005
Age: 4 years old

Brianna was riding on horses since she was just a baby, and it soon became something that she enjoyed very, very much. One day, Brianna was riding her horse, Slug, and he started acting up. Brianna had ridden him many times, but his acting oddly did worry Brianna's parents a bit.

Brianna had been practicing riding her horse, and her mother took Brianna off of Slug and put her on the horse that she had been riding. It was decided that they would put the horses back in their stables and practice later, but Brianna begged and begged to practice now until her mother gave in and let her.

They were on the way to the arena, and Brianna was riding Slug again because he had started to act normal. On their way to the arena, they turned around to go back to the house because Brianna's mother said that she had to go to the bathroom.

They were nearing their home when their cat began following them. Their cat often followed them when they rode horses, so this wasn't unusual, but for some reason, on this day, the cat spooked Slug. Brianna's mother noticed this and she began to get off her horse to go and get Brianna off of Slug, but she didn't move fast enough.

Slug reared up and fell over backwards, landing right on Brianna. He quickly rolled off of her. Brianna's mother felt relieved when she saw that Brianna looked fine. She thought she was just knocked out, but when she picked up her little daughter, blood began flowing out of her mouth and nose.

Brianna's mother picked her up and ran to the house. When she reached the house, she called 911. After an ambulance was on its way, she called her family members for help. She knew they could get their quicker than the ambulance. Brianna had a pulse, but she wasn't breathing. Brianna's mother attempted to breathe for her by breathing into her mouth, but her pulse slowly got weaker and weaker before it stopped completely.

Brianna's mother began performing CPR on her, and finally, the ambulances arrived. The doctors began working on Brianna and Brianna's mother went to get Brianna's father who had been outside, not knowing that any of this had occurred. A helicopter landed in the field near Brianna's house and loaded her into it.

Brianna's family drove to the emergency room. They took her family into the counseling room and said that a surgeon would come in to talk to them soon. They were also told that by the time Brianna reached the hospital, she was attempting to breathe on her own, which was better than how her mother had last seen her, with only a weak pulse. This was followed by "...but her injuries were so severe that her heart couldn't keep up. She died a few minutes ago. I'm sorry."
