Layla Marsh

Layla Grace Marsh
November 26 2007 - March 9 2010
Age: 2 years old

At 16 months old, Layla began showing signs of some kind of illness, so her family took her to the doctor. On 7th May 2009, whilst in the doctors office expecting to receive medication for constipation, her parents where instead introduced to the words, cancer and leukaemia.
Layla was then diagnosed with a massive cancerous tumour (stage 4 neuroblastoma) in her abdomen. This extends from her left kidney over to her belly and then wraps around her aorta. In addition, the cancer was in her bone marrow.

Within 10 months, Layla went under 11 surgeries, 7 rounds of chemo, 3 blood tranfusions, a bone marrow harvest and transplant, radiation and lengthy hospital stays.

On 18th November 2009, she underwent a bone marrow transplant, which included a 6 week hospital stay in isolation. All in hopes to cure the cancer. It didn't.

On 22nd January 2010, during thier weekly checkup doctors discover something heaerbreaking. There is now a new tumour attacking Layla's one kidney. The doctors say they only have 2 months with there baby girl.

On 7th March 2010, Layla hasn't woken up all day and has slept with a full diaper. The next day her feet are cold to the touch as only opened her eyes once. Then on 9th March 2010, Layla passed away in her fathers arms. Layla was just to beautiful for earth.
