Jessica Phelps

Jessica Jean Phelps
December 22 1992 - July 1 1997
Age: 4 years old

Jessica "Jessie" was a beautiful, confident, friendly and sweet little girl. She loved having sleepovers. She loved to pester the cats and play with the noisy cat toys with them. She loved going to the zoo, playground and she loved her baby brother and family. She will forever be remembered and missed.

On July 1, 1997 on an average afternoon for Jessica, her younger brother and their mother. The trio had just returned from a trip to McDonald’s. Jessica’s mother, who was raising her two youngsters on her own, headed to take a quick shower.Their home was on the east side of Flint, Michigan. The houses on their block were nearly side by side, and neighborhood children were constantly running from one yard to the next playing games. It’s believed that’s what Jessica decided to do. Sometime while her mother was in the bathroom, Jessica must have headed out the front door.

After she finished her shower Jessica’s mother discovered Jessica was gone. She assumed the regular; that Jessica was outside playing with the other children. It was a sunny, summer evening, after all..She looked around the neighborhood, but couldn’t spot her. She called neighbors, but no one had seen the blonde child. She recruited nearby friends to help her search. They thought, perhaps, Jessica had gotten lost. But there were no signs of the little girl anywhere. And when Jessica never came home, panic really set in. Angie remembers getting the phone call while in the car. Jessica was missing for nine months.

On April 2, 1998, about 15 miles away from where Jessica disappeared, a man excavating a stretch of road for a county ditch project uncovered a set of bones. There was clothing there that appeared to be those of a little girl. The body was identified to be the body of Jessica. A cause of death could not be done due to the level of decomposition. Jessica’s killer has never been found and she has no justice 21 years later.

Rest in peace Jessica.

Chloe Keiser

Chloe Carin Keiser
May 7 2005 - December 18 2006
Age: 19 months old

Chloe was born on May 7, 2005 to John and Erin Keiser in New Jersey, USA. She had two older siblings, Carly and John Jr. aswell as a baby brother named Gavin. Chloe was described as a sassy, funny, sweat and beautiful baby.

*story told by mother*

On December 17, 2006 some time early in the morning Chloe got out of her bed and made it into my son’s room. The only thing I remember of that tragic morning is hearing a loud crash and my two children running into our room and saying “Mommy Chloe is under the TV.” My husband and I through the 27 inch TV off of her and I picked her up and ran to the phone and called 911. I was so distraught that I couldn’t hear the operator so I through the phone and ran Chloe to my neighbors where I knew that she would be able to help me with her until the paramedics got to her.

That morning, they helicoptered her out to Cooper Hospital and when my husband and I got there we were rushed to the doctors where they told us they would do they best that they could for Chloe and that she really needed a miracle. Chloe sustained a lot of trauma to her head and the doctors did everything in their power to bring our Chloe girl back but the damage was to server.

On December 18, 2006 at 4:00pm Chloe was dedicated and by 4:10 Chloe crashed, my husband and I had to make the hardest decision of our lives, we made the doctors stop everything and let Chloe rest in peace. Our Chloe girl made all of the decisions in our home and she was like a little mom so when she made up her mind to go to heaven we granted her one little wish to be our little Christmas Angel.

Rest in peace Chloe.

Sirita Sotelo

Sirita Jimmina Sotelo
February 12 2000 - January 21 2005
Age: 4 years old

Sirita was born on February 12, 2000 to John Ewell and Patricia Sotelo in Washington, USA. Sirita, affectionately called "Boo-Boo" was described as a bright, beautiful, energetic, silly, and incredibly sweet little girl, with a heartwarming smile. She loved the color pink, Hello Kitty, stuffed animals, princesses, fairies, singing, dancing, listening to music, getting her hair done, drinking root beer floats, climbing, watching figure skating on TV, helping out in the kitchen, playing outside, dressing up, looking at the stars, and riding her bike.

Sirita was born with cocaine in her system and the result of an extramarital affair. Sirita's mother was not able to overcome her drug use and she also had psychological problems.

On May 15 2003, based on the the amount of time that Sirita had been in the care of the state, the failed attempts to place her back with her mother and the fact that her father had not been in her life at all, the state filed papers to try to terminate the parental rights of her mother, Patricia Sotelo.

On November 21 2003, Sirita went to live with her father, stepmother and four other children. Sirita seemed to be having trouble adjusting to living in her knew home. During a visit on December 8 2004, they foster parents told a Catholic Community Services worker that Sirita and their youngest child would fight a lot.  The department determined that Sirita was in a good place and custody was granted to John and Heather. On January 22 2005, CPS would realize that they had made a big mistake.

That night, Police called CPS to report a suspicious death of a child. According to reports, Heather Ewell had called poison control stating that Sirita had gotten sick after she ate a glue stick solvent of some kind. Later in the evening she had checked on her and she was dead. Nothing was found in her system that backed up the glue gun story. She would later change her story and say that Sirita had fallen backwards and hit her head. That story was a lie.

Authorities were called to the home and noticed that Sirita seemed to be malnourished and pale. A medical examiner determined that her death was caused by blows to her head which had caused her skull to fracture and she also had a severed liver. Heather would later admit that she wasn't able to handle the fits that Sirita had been throwing so she had put her into a cold shower and beat her after she had wet her pants. Heather Ewell was sentenced to 8 years in prison. She was released in 2013.

Rest in peace Sirita.

Melody Alexander

Melody Starr Alexander
July 23 2005 - February 9 2007
Age: 18 months old

Melody was born on July 23, 2005 to Crystal Privette and Sonny Alexander in Tennessee, USA.

On February 9 2007, Melody was having a bath with her 3 year old brother, Landan. Their mother, Crystal, is watching them. Then, 6 month old Alanna began to cry, Crystal stood up and walked out of the room to check on Alanna. She left baby Melody and three year old Landan alone in the bathtub. After she calmed Alanna down, she quickly loaded the dishwasher. When she came back into the bathroom, Landan was stood up in the bath.

Crystal asked Landan  "where is sissy?" Landan replied "right there!" and pointed into the soapy water. Crystal walked closer to the bath and saw Melody's blond hair under the water. She immediately grabbed Melody out of the water and put her onto the floor. She was very blue and unresponsive. Crystal called for Sonny who called 911. The ambulance soon arrived and Melody was rushed to hospital. The police was very suspicious of Sonny and Crystal and wouldn't even let them go to the hospital to be with Melody.

When the police finally let Sonny and Crystal go, it was too late. Crystal called her sister and found out the Melody had passed away. Melody had accidentally drowned in the bathtub while playing with her three year old brother. Autopsy revealed that Melody passed away due to drowning. It was proved that Crystal had only been out of the bathroom for around 45 seconds and in that small amount of time, Melody drowned.

Rest in peace Melody.

Joseph Wallace

Joseph Wayne Wallace
July 29 1989 - April 19 1993
Age: 3 years old

Joseph's mother, Amanda Wallace, told authorities that she had Joseph stand on a chair, wrapped an extension cord around his neck, tied the other end of the cord above a door, gagged him with a sock, and placed tape over his mouth. She then proceeded wave and say "goodbye" to Joseph, and watched as Joseph innocently gave the same response back, and removed the chair out from under him before walking away. Joseph's baby brother was also present in the apartment, but was unharmed.

The incident occurred shortly after a judge placed Joseph back into his mother's care, despite her psychiatrist's warning that she should "never have custody this baby (Joseph) or any other child." Joseph's mother also had a long history of severe mental health problems and violent behavior. As a result, Joseph was removed from her care, placed in a foster home, and then returned to her on three separate occasions - the last time proving to have fatal consequences.

Amanda Wallace received life in prison, but committed suicide a year into her sentence.

Rest in peace Joseph.
